2024 Annual General Meeting

We held our 2024 AGM on November 7th.

Turn out was good with 28 full members which was sufficient to make the meeting quorate

The meeting started at 7:30pm and finished at 9:30pm

I have attached the preliminary minutes of the meeting - note that these will not be signed off as an accurate record until the AGM next year. In the mean time please feel free to have a read and get in touch if you think there are any errors or omissions.

Changes were agreed to the constitution and I am currently updating these to reflect the comments made at the meeting. They will be linked to the website once complete.

Not all the flying rule changes were accepted and changes have now been made. It was hoped that these could be reviewed at the December meeting via an EGM but unfortunately there was insufficient attendance to make the meeting quorate.

It was agreed that the club subscription will go up from £65 to £75. We now know that the BMFA membership will be increased from £47 to £49. The updated membership renewal form was presented at the meeting and this is now available as a link on the website.

The chairman, Gary Jones, gave a summary of the 2024 highlights.

There were no changes to the committee and the existing committee was voted back in.

Finally, congratulations to John Stockton who was voted 'Modeller of the Year' - well done John, well deserved.

A good meeting but regrettably we were unable to complete flying rule changes - in particular the role of the Safety Representative. As a committee we will continue to work on this and bring it to a resolution.
